ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION

The environmental deterioration that appears in almost all the surface of our country is the result of a development model that has not contemplated the necessity to preserve the environmental conditions and nature; the effects of this negligence, are increased by the accelerated population growth and of the urban development. Because of this, the following has been affected: the biodiversity, grounds, bodies of water, forests, jungles, beaches, and diverse ecosystems that today require an urgent attention to restrain its deterioration and to allow its restoration and conservation.

Years ago the environmental deterioration was thought to be definitive and irreversible; nevertheless, nowadays it is possible, in most of the cases, to revert this deterioration thanks to the application of sciences and technologies.

The reforestation and environmental restoration, the conservation of the biodiversity and germoplasm, are the most important mechanisms for the recovery and conservation of ecosystems; they are also considered as the basic activities that allow the development of ecological projects, improving their environmental and landscaping quality.

Any project of Ecological Restoration has the central objective to improve the environmental conditions of a determined site, and requires the communitarian, multisectorial participation and the application of suitable environmental technologies.

This way, the ecological restoration Integrates a series of activities that vary from the ground improvement, the cultivation of native vegetal species, introduction of fauna species of the region, cleaning of water bodies, aquifers,  beach recovery and ground improvement, control of erosion and reforestation, among others.

In each case, it is necessary to make environmental studies that provide a clear and complete picture of the conditions of the site, as well as detecting the factors that have generated the deterioration. Afterwards, measures must be implemented to restrain the causes of the environmental deterioration  immediately and definitively. Finally it is necessary to design and to implement suitable programs of environmental restoration to the conditions and characteristics of the site. These programs must integrate a  series of strategies, actions, technology and materials in a programmed manner.

Eco Red has participated number of successful projects of ecological restoration, in sites where now real-state, tourist, ecotouristic and recreational projects are developed. The ecological restoration is an environmental recoil mechanism and protection of the ecosystems, necessary and technologically feasible that generates enormous environmental, economic and social benefits to our country.
